Fortnite at E3 2018: How to download Fortnite on the Nintendo Switch?
Nintendo granted the wishes of millions of gamers last night as they announced Fortnite is ready to download on the Nintendo Switch .
The games company revealed the popular Battle Royale shooter would be launching on the Switch during their press conference at E3 2018, announcing that players could buy the game within 24 hours of the conference ending.
Epic Games had been rumoured to be partnering with Nintendo for a while, but finally answered all the rumours and leaks by announcing Fortnite on the Switch.

Epic Games has previously launched their popular shooter on mobile devices, but the game has failed to find success with mobile players.
Nintendo will be hoping to capture the audience that wants to take their games on the go with a bigger screen and more comprehensive controls - something that was sorely lacking on the mobile version.
Nintendo announced during their E3 games conference that Fortnite will be available to download during the conference from 5pm BST (10am PT/1pmET) yesterday, June 12.

Players could sign up and register their account with Epic Games while downloading the game, which will allow players to connect with their other consoles and social media accounts so they can play with friends across the announced platforms.
Fortunately for gamers, Fortnite is a free-to-play game so there are no initial costs for downloading the shooter - simply register an account and head to the eshop.
The only costs associated with Fortnite are micro transactions for skins, emotes and dances via the games currency - V-Bucks, and the Battle Pass which gives layers access to Fortntie’s 10-week seasons, challenging players to complete tasks to gain experience and collect cosmetics for their character.

How do I download Fortnite?
Fortnite is ready and available to download on the Nintendo Switch right now on the eshop after the announcement at E3 2018.
The download should be a little over 2GB to download so make sure you have plenty of space on your Switch to play.
You can register your free account with Epic Games on their official website and head over to the shop for download.
Once the download of Fortnite is complete, launch the game and select Battle Royale to start dropping into games and taking on players.

Can I play Fortnite with other platforms on my Switch?
Nintendo announced during their E3 conference that Fortnite on the Switch will connect players between consoles, allowing for inter-platform matches.
However, Sony has announced they will be blocking cross-play between the Switch and the PS4, limiting games to PC and Xbox One players only.
You can play with other players on Xbox One and PC platforms by linking your account with the accounts on your other consoles.
Linking your Fortnite accounts will also carry over cosmetic and skin unlocks you have achieved throughout your game time.
The Nintendo Switch has an unusual line communication service, requiring you to have a phone for voice communication, but game quality should not be affected when playing against other console players.
